I do not do gritty/intense/jumpy/gory "drama" tv shows (or movies for that matter).
Dexter, House of Cards, Sons of Anarchy, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Battlestar Galactica, Walking Dead..all of them…I literally can-not handle them. The plots intrigue me, the characters get my attention, some have awesome costumes and I want to like them…believe me I have tried, but to my husband's dismay he is stuck watching these types of shows alone.
People think its funny/annoying/inconvenient that shows like this "stress me out" but after watching them I have serious anxiety…I experience very real feelings of anger, sadness, frustration, sick to my stomach, anxiousness, annoyance and (just ask my husband) I get in a completely defiant mood and my emotional walls all go up…perhaps to protect my emotional vulnerability…who knows, just a thought. Along with all of that awful stuff, my mind keeps replaying the harshest scenes over and over again….not my idea of fun!
And so, I prefer to live in a naive world of humor, love and feel good happy endings…Feel free to psychoanalyze me and my tendency to internalize everything. ;) "I'm a sensitive soul, tho I seem thick skinned" …ok the 2nd part has never been the case. Ha.
Some of my favorites of all times and shows i'm just currently enjoying, in no particular order:
Friends, The Office, How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, Scrubs, Agents of Shield, New Girl, Friday Night Lights, Brooklyn 99, Parenthood…and Dancing with the Stars! (I probably forgot a few)
So there's something about me. :)
And totally unrelated (because I can't help but share)….here are some of Graham's latest faces….he's becoming such a ham already and continually cracks me up!!
